Goldfish

Subject - This series of digital paintings explores my fascination with the grace and serene beauty of goldfish. They have long been associated with luck and harmony, and I love their sweet personalities,gentle movements and flowing fins.

Style - Softly blended brushstrokes form to create the sweeping, translucent fins and tails, conveying a sense of movement through water. The collection evokes feelings of calm and harmony whilst also being dynamic, lively and vibrant, highlighting the delicate balance between activity and stillness.

Colour palette - Rich blacks, browns and violets, together with the vibrant oranges and reds, are highlighted with pearlescent whites and brilliant metallic golds. These highlights suggest the reflection of light bouncing off scales as the fish glide smoothly through their underwater world.
