ABC of Food

Subject - Food is a universal language, it nourishes, delights and connects us across cultures and generations. 

These illustrations are from the book ABC of Food which provides pre-schoolers with an accessible entry point to learning the alphabet.

Each letter of the alphabet is matched with a tasty food, some of which will be familiar and others which may be a new discovery.

Style - Each illustration distills its subject into a bold, iconic form with the emphasis on providing visual interest for small children by utilising colour, vibrancy and texture. 

This is further accentuated by the contrast against the simple white background and use of minimal, clean typography.

Colour Palette - Bright, fresh colours and natural earthy tones are carefully blended and shaded, then finished with subtle glossy highlights to achieve a recognisable representation of the subjects.
